Habits That Support Success

Here in LA we’ve been super busy including a bunch of travelling between cities and running our events.

I’ve felt a weird mixture of being well inside my comfort zone, and at times, out of my depth and it’s in times like this that the daily habits we create to support our success journey pay dividends.

My daily practice of coffee and journaling, followed by a gym session is all I need to ground myself and be reminded of who I am, what I stand for, what’s important to me, where I’m headed and why I want it.

In times of growth and expansion, it’s easy to lose yourself or get caught up in things that don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

I adore travel and it’s a big part of who I am but I also love being home and thriving under the routine I have back there.

I never feel homesick but at times I do yearn for being able to prep my own food, train in my regular gym, go to my favourite cafes, walk along my beach and work from my own office.

Journaling brings me back to the moment and I’m able to remind myself just how freaking AMAZING this very moment is.

Today we have a photoshoot with Caroline White (http://www.carolinewhitephotography.com/business-coaches/) who has photographed Marie Forleo and Carrie Green just to name a few.

To be honest the last few days I’ve really been taking this for granted and have had a bit of a “can’t be bothered” attitude to this photoshoot (!!), I think all of the running around and busy-ness was catching up with me.

That and I HATE having my photo taken!!

This morning as I journaled I was able to see just how amazing this day is going to be and now I can’t wait!!

We’re going to be travelling all over LA to the different venues Caroline has picked out for us, what a great way to see the city!!

Our make-up and hair person is arriving in less than an hour and then the day is underway.

In the meantime I’m enjoying the fact that I’m sitting on a rooftop, poolside, in this fabulous hotel…the sun is shining, it’s going to be a spectacular day here in LA and back home it’s dead winter and miserable!

I don’t really have to think about these daily practices anymore, they are just a part of who I am and how I operate and this is what habits are….a set of behaviours you do automatically without too much thinking.

The daily success habits I practice without thinking are:

Journaling.

Working out.

Drinking lots of water.

Eating a healthy diet.

Reading and visioning my goals.

Getting good sleep.

Listening to my body (and my brain!) and resting when I need to, this isn’t often but I maintain a high energy 99% of the time because I take downtime when I feel the first signs of burnout hitting me and not because I’m forced to because I have burned out.

Being in tune with your body is so critical.

I honestly believe we can head off most illnesses if we just pay attention to what our bodies are telling us early on.

If your life feels like constant chaos or you feel as though you’re constantly chasing your tail and playing catch up know that this isn’t how life is supposed to feel.

Create some daily success habits that support the journey you’re on and listen to what your body is telling you so you can manage your energy so you don’t hit burnout.

Regardless of where you are in your entrepreneurial journey remember to enjoy the process as well as keeping your eye firmly planted on your end goal.
