At this very moment I’m sitting outside on the front patio of a gorgeous boutique hotel smack bang in the middle of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills (I’m looking straight at Gucci’s beautiful storefront) and I am SOOOO filled with gratitude and joy it’s not freaking funny! I’ve spent an hour journalling and I’m about to hit the gym before getting ready for the VIP Intensive we’re hosting here at our stunning hotel. It’s too easy to get caught up in chasing an outcome and missing the most important thing on our way to greater success and that is the journey itself. One of my greatest flaws is that I don’t always take the time to live in the moment. I’m that girl (as many of you are) who has her eye well and truly planted on the next goal before I’ve even reached the one I’m chasing at that very moment. I often regret coming home from trips like these realising I didn’t really appreciate the moments that make up the adventure. This time is different. I’m soaking up every minute. I’m deeply grateful for every moment. And I’m giving myself permission to find joy in the whole experience, even when things beyond our control have challenged us. This is time I’ll never get back so I made a commitment to myself to squeeze every ounce of enjoyment from the experience. You only launch a business overseas for the first time once and I want to remember every detail…..even the challenges….maybe even ESPECIALLY the challenges…because I know these are the most valuable bits, because challenge is where growth...

If You Want Next Level Success, Fight For It!

Here’s what I know about next level success… You have to fight for it. But not in the way you might think. Sure…there are the usual “failures” and inevitable wrong turns but the biggest battle many of us will face is an internal one. That shitty internal battle between belief and doubt. Knowing we’re destined for greatness, feeling invincible because we’re on the right path…KNOWING our highest vision is soon to be reached. And then doubting every bloody thing! Is this the right thing? What if it fails? What if I’m not good enough? What if I just can’t make it happen??? This internal battle is about as fun as pulling nose hairs. It’s also unnecessary. Because if we REALLY want it, and we want it for the right reasons it’ll happen. You’ll pull it off and you’ll be beating yourself up for worrying for nothing! Want to know how I tame the beast? I choose to look at facts over feelings. Feeling – I’m scared it will fail…and pretty much every version of that same sentiment. Fact – When I want something badly and I’m aligned I ALWAYS get the result I want. Fact – I’ve been down this road a million times before and the outcome is always the same…I win…so why would this time be any different? Fact – I’m a risk taker, this is who I am, it’s what I do, shying away from risk does NOT make me happy….it makes me BORED! Fact – Other people are doing this thing and smashing it, this means I can too…better. Feelings distract you from your end...

Sooooo……I just had a phone call from a lovely lady who had a proposition for me and now it has me thinking her idea is a HELL YES and I’m actually not sure why the hell I didn’t think of it before. She called to let me know she had watched my FB live this morning only to open her email not too long afterwards to find an email from me….this had her swearing quite a bit  She was swearing because she was frustrated that pumping out content seems so easy to me and it’s something she struggles with a lot. Her proposition was “if you run this as a workshop I’ll be your first client”. Ya’ll know I am to please  So I’m going to run a 1 day workshop on how to become a Content Creation Queen (the name was her idea and I couldn’t improve on it so CCQ it is ) The aim is to teach you how to tap into endless content effortlessly..whether this is for your social content (including blogs) or online program content for your first or next program. I’m going to run this one live in Melbourne and if I have enough interest I’ll also run one in Sydney. I’d say I’ll also run this one as a 1/2 day online training as well. Have you noticed lately that it now seems to be acceptable behaviour for coaches and / or influencers to bully, name call and in a nutshell tell you you’re not doing enough, hustling hard enough, dreaming big enough,….if you don’t work with them?? Have you noticed that it now seems common practice to tell women that unless they’re hustling 24 / 7 or working themselves into the ground they’re just not working hard enough….and “it’s no wonder you haven’t reached your goals yet?”. You need to push, to be relentless, to always give 110% (umm..maths!?) to grind away UNTIL you make your millions. That you need to be AGGRESSIVE and to CHASE, CHASE, CHASE. Well I’m calling BS. And I have a question for you. What matters to you? REALLY matters to you, millions of dollars in the bank or a life you LOVE living where you also have time for the people, things and experiences you love? And just on that, I am NOT saying you need to work yourself into the ground to make millions, I can’t say for sure because I haven’t made millions yet, but I can assure you if I do it will have been on my terms and that does not include running myself into the ground and sacrificing relationships and sanity! Why it took me over a decade to make any money from coaching.

If you’re fed up with feeling like a failure in your coaching business then PLEASE read on, you’re about to feel a whole lot better as I share with you why it took me over a decade to make any decent money from coaching. I began my coaching career filled with optimism. I gained my coaching certification back in the year 2000 and went hell for leather making my mark on the coaching world. I became Regional Manager for Results Coaching Systems, I spoke at their events (and my own), became head of way too many business networking groups, attended course after course and even had a regular column in the local newspaper where I went all Tony Robins on the local peeps. I hustled my little ass off for a very long time. I built a respectable profile and was seen to be “successful”. Hell I LOOKED successful from every angle. Lesson No.1: Despite not experiencing any real financial success this approach did put me on the map and forced me to grow and expand rapidly as a coach and this set the tone for my career that carries through even today. But I never made any real money. Sure I’d pick up regular clients and organisations would pay me to deliver a workshop here and there but my coaching income was precarious at best. Converting Discovery Sessions is always a topic up for discussion because it’s here that most coaches fall over. We fall over because we hate to “sell” ourselves and are in such a hurry to prove we are NOT pushy and would NEVER pressure someone to work with us, and besides we’re successful coaches so we must also prove we don’t NEED this persons business. Gah! Oftentimes this does not work in our favour because in the end we don’t “sell” at all and another yet discovery session bites the dust…another discovery call that is a large part of our marketing strategy…gone to waste. We’ve all been there right? So…how DO we convert those precious discovery calls? Here are my top tips for making discovery calls count.   Let’s begin by re-framing our discovery sessions. Rather than see your discovery sessions as a way to “get clients” I’d like you to instead think of them as “getting to know each other” sessions. The “discovery” part is after-all about getting to know each other and ensuing you are the right fit. YOU are discovering as much as your potential client is. Contrary to popular belief any client with a pulse is NOT a good client, some people are simply NOT a good fit and this is where you get to determine whether or not you would like to work with this person.
