What it costs (in pain & dollars) to look the part of a highly polished FE after 45 (female entrepreneur).

Ok so here’s a topic!! I’m 46 years old (47 in March) and while I’d like to be able to say I can put down my youthful appearance down to good genetics that ain’t entirely true. Sure I DO have excellent genes, I stay in shape and take great care of myself but age starts to do it’s work regardless of how well well we do all of that. What prompted me to write this post is the fact I’m sitting here with a face that feels like I sat in the sun 5 hours too long after my very first dermastamp treatment (video below) last night. I’m an open book and pretty much share the whole shooting match with you so figured you might as well benefit from my experience if you’re thinking Post continues after video. Here’s a list of my regular treatments, the frequency I have them done and ballpark costs. SNS Manicure & Shellac Pedicure I have a mani every 2 weeks @ $55 per session and a pedi every 3-4 weeks @ $40 Hair Cut and colour every 4-5 weeks @ $240 Tanning I used to get a spray tan every week but honestly I can’t handle the time and effort it requires A to get it done and B to get the stuff off!! Now I just use a gradual tanner every 2nd day or so, I like St Tropez in dark. Skin  – Injectables Dysport (like botox) to my crows feet and the line between my eyes @ around $750 a pop. I’m supposed to do this every 3 months but sometimes...

Let’s talk about Style…

Let’s talk about Style…

Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak – Rachel Zoe If this is true what does your style say about you? Mine used to say “she’s fit, she’s probably a personal trainer” and to be honest even when I was a PT I never described myself this way. My image was not reflective of who I was, a guess at what I did but not who I was or am. These days people guess all sorts of stuff, doctor, lawyer, actor (lol, mum did call me a drama queen a lot as a kid so I guess that counts) all of which I find extremely amusing given I left school at 14 years of age. My style these days is what I would describe as relaxed elegance, I’m far from conservative, definitely a little edgy and comfort is important for my everyday. Gone is my usual daily uniform of nike and Lululemon and in its place you will find me wearing a cool pair of jeans, funky ankle boots or flats and a lovely zara shirt with a blazer thrown over the top. In the warmer months its gorgeous dresses and shorts with wedges. I feel much more like the whole person I am, my confidence is increased and I’m more in touch with my feminine, sensual side. Shopping is much easier these days, I know what works for me, I know what I’m comfortable in and I have a lot of fun with my style. Does your style truly reflect all facets of your...
