Eliminate & Simplify the Overwhelm

Eliminate & Simplify the Overwhelm

A bit of a nod to my Martial Arts roots but totally relevant outside of MA. If you’re feeling overwhelmed in your life or your business (or both!) the quickest way to fix that is to eliminate and simplify. This is a process I use regularly to avoid overwhelm and stay in flow. If I feel the first signs of overwhelm hit I know to look for clutter. Mental clutter, physical clutter, the clutter that comes from taking on too much at one time. The “clutter” makes a lot of noise and get’s in the way of feeling clear and strategic. When you clear out what is no longer useful it feels as though the shackles come off and you’re free to fly again. What thought’s no longer serve you? What “stuff” have you accumulated that you no longer need? How can you simplify the project that’s overwhelming you? Is there structure that needs to be introduced into your day to make you more effective and efficient? Life is no fun in overwhelm, it’s stressful, paralysing and holds you back. If that’s you spend today if you can (or the weekend if you can’t) eliminating all that’s weighing you...
3 Reason’s You’ll Fail As A Female Entrepreneur

3 Reason’s You’ll Fail As A Female Entrepreneur

I’m not usually one to focus on the negatives but sometimes the need to get the point across requires it. Typically I’d title a post something like “3 Ways to Succeed As A Female Entrepreneur” etc etc, that’s the way I usually like to roll but this stuff kinda is life or death for your business and I felt it needed gravity and so 3 Reason’s You’ll Fail it is. Moving on… When a woman comes to me because her business is failing it’s usually because of one or a combination of these 3 things. EVERY – SINGLE – TIME. So without further ado here they are…. 1: YOU DON’T HAVE A SOLID LEAD MAGNET THAT YOUR MARKET IS DYING FOR Leads are the lifeline of your business, without a good lead magnet the leads don’t come and without leads you don’t have clients. It doesn’t matter what you’re selling, but ESPECIALLY if you’re selling something service based and TENFOLD if its a high-end offering, whatever you sell, you need leads because it’s unlikely people are beating down your door to throw money at you simply because you opened your doors. Your market needs to test the waters and experience what it is you have to offer, they want to try you on for size before they jump in the deep end and invest their card earned cashola. The best way to do this is via a Lead Magnet that is exciting and interesting to your market, much like the lead magnet that attracted you to my list in the first...
3 Questions to Make Your Day More Powerful.

3 Questions to Make Your Day More Powerful.

It’s important for any female entrepreneur, career or business woman to know she’s growing, aligned and powerful. Without this, confidence can take a nosedive and in business confidence is everything! Recently I adopted the habit of asking myself three centering questions the moment I open my eyes and the effect has been powerful. How can I live a bigger life?  How can I play a bigger game in my business?  How can I honour ALL parts of me?  HUGE questions. Questions that expand my thinking and force me to elevate from the moment my day begins. For most female business women building our career or empire becomes an obsession, our driving force and the place we choose to focus the majority of our energy and time … and for good reason — because it fulfills us. So much of our identity and how we feel about ourselves as women is deeply tied to the success or failure of our business. BUT, here’s the thing … most of us didn’t begin our businesses or go into our field because we wanted to work 20 hours a day, even though we love our work. A large part of the motivation is the lifestyle we hoped would accompany it. You know the one: time freedom, luxury travel, beautiful clothes, fine dining, a beautiful home, the luxury car, and flowers and candles … lots of flowers and candles. I’m as guilty as the next woman of entering `the cave’, the place where a new idea forms and life becomes all about bringing this thing to life. This is a necessary part of the deal at times, however...
