Be Bold….the death wish for any female entrepreneur’s business is to remain beige.

Having the word “Ass” in your brand raises a few issues (and I’m not sure the word “Ass” and the Eiffel have ever been used synonymously before either!). I battle with Facebook on a daily basis trying to get my ads through and “boosting” isn’t an option which really sucks and there is also a section of the population who thinks it’s crass (clearly NOT my market so that’s ok) and like to frown down upon my gorgeous brand due to the aforementioned “ass”. All of that aside I would never dream of doing a single thing differently. It’s a bold move using a “bad word” (or “profanity” as FB likes to call it)  in your brand but if you nail it you will absolutely stand out from the competition in the best possible way. Another benefit is that a brand like this polarises people, they either love it or they hate it which is an excellent way to cull potential customers who aren’t a good fit before they even make contact…many hours saved right there. I’m not suggesting for a minute that cuss words in your branding is the secret recipe for success…but being bold IS. Boldness in your brand is one thing and then there is boldness in your actions. Do you have a big-ass goal that scares the bejeebers out of you? Is it the sort of goal that can only be achieved through bold action? To say that I was mortified that anyone actually watched this stuff would be an understatement…some video’s had 100’s of views!! These days I have a fairy slick set up in my home office. I have created what I consider to be a pretty nice “set”, I have a good camera, lights, a mike, great editing software and a professional ( signature) intro and outro complete with handpicked music and I have a nicely pimped out YouTube Channel. Back then I was using a flipcam to record (sans mike)  and well…I’ll let you judge for yourself when you see the stunning example below. Here’s the thing though… I was giving it a crack! It may have been total crap but every week I created a new episode, did whatever limited editing I could do and away I went. However what was lacking in every cell of my previous efforts was polish. ANY semblance of polish!! What I love about this though is the glaring example of before I went Pro (totally profesh and no longer an amateur) and afterwards. I’m definitely much more comfortable in front of the camera these days but there are a lot of other little details that add polish to a video and regardless of your budget you can make your own kickass sales video’s, video blogs and free video series. Going Pro doesn’t have to mean spending 1,000’s of dollars on each individual element but it does mean...
